Manchester is the city for one or two days. The best is good train connection to other more attractive towns (York, Nottingham, Chester, Liverpool for example) as well as a good start place to continue to North Wales, Isle of Man or Lake District. In such case of short one day trips you can spend in Manchester more than one week.

Manchester is the best! Loads to do and see. Many quality restaurants and the trams are great!
Favourites are Dishoom and Piccolinos.
We try and take in a show at the palace theatre and maybe a trip to the quays and the Trafford centre so all bases are covered. People are really welcoming- yes it rains but that’s Manchester for you. My tip use public transport it’s plentiful and keeps cars to a minimum.

In general there is a lot to do in Manchester and was our 3rd visit.
Trams are fun.
Less good: Science Museum as intended more for children.
I have stayed at this hotel twice in the past month and will hopefully be returning every time I travel to Manchester. I used to stay at either the Hilton hotels or Premier Inn if I was staying for the whole week due to the price but this hotel just has everything I need, it's nice and clean and the staff are lovely.
There's room service (although I haven't used it yet), the location is ideal with sainsburys and tesco just a short walk away as well as other food stores and the room has such lovely character to it.
Excellent location - Manchester City Centre
We booked for a theatre show - Pretty Woman
Parking very close (shutters are down but open as you try to enter Q parking) plenty of spaces
Breakfast was delicious (we ate @ 730am Sunday & 9am Monday - no queues) - attentive staff
Room was lovely & we really like having the fridge store drinks & food (Marks & Spencer meal in for two)
Plenty of shops close by buy drinks/food -
Clean, modern, stylish - like a hotel but apartments
We stayed on the 12th floor
Beautiful, clean, modern, contemporary well thought out room with excellent views of Old Trafford, Manchester City Centre and Peak District. Bed was super comfortable with USB / power sockets either side. Lots of storage and desk space. TV was great too. Breakfast very good, staff friendly and attentive. I stay in Manchester a lot and this hotel is excellent value for money and I will definitely say this is the best non spa hotel in Manchester.
The property is only a short trip from Manchester City centre on the 59 bus. The hotel has a beautiful breakfast area and seating area/bar with a huge flat screen tv. Nice home cooked feel breakfasts with tea and coffee supplied on request. The hotel has a family ran feel, with little staff that do their best to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. Our room was comfy enough for us only staying 2 nights.
This hotel is definitely one of the best value for money in Manchester, the location is so good, right in the centre of the city, just outside the door is the square town hall and tram platform, there are many restaurants nearby. The hotel is very comfortable and clean and the people at reception were very friendly! And they have a restaurant and bar downstairs at ground floor and is very large and very cosy!
Appreciate the hotel only opened a few weeks ago, but what an addition this is to Manchester. The interior design is second to none and the roof top bar is the icing on the cake. The cooked breakfast was to die for and the supplementary buffet is vast and of the highest quality. Staff were more than welcoming.
Evening meal and breakfast very good in nice surroundings. Staff were friendly and helpful. Asked for walk in shower which we got! Position of hotel perfect for station ( we got train home) and also for parts of Manchester we wanted to visit. Cookie we were given on arrival was warm and delicious thank you.
Let's start with the check in l. It was fast and the receptionist was professional. The location of the hotel was a walking distance from the shopping mall. The room was clean and spacious. The check out proses was fast as well.
Highly recommended for short trip to Manchester.
Free parking on site which was a bonus, check in easy, room great size and incredibly quiet (especially considering the location near city centre Manchester), breakfast was fantastic and one of the best we've had in a hotel for a while.
Superb as expected from Malmaison and this new hotel is perfect for any city centre stay in Manchester.
The gentleman on reception was excellent, can't recall his name, but he had a cool name and was at the top of his game.
Very clean well maintained hotel. Comfortable bedrooms. Friendly helpful staff. Central to both Oxford Road Train Station and Manchester City Centre . Delicious breakfast with plenty of choice . Would highly recommend
We stayed when the hotel was new so we were already familiar with the location on the edge of Manchester City Centre. The checkin process was quick and friendly but that’s the only real positive thing I can say.
Location was excellent for our needs, the hotel, was clean, comfortable and with good facilities. The staff were polite, friendly and very helpful. I would certain use this hotel again when in Manchester.
Great location 3 minutes walk away from
Manchester Picadilly train station and 10 mins walk from the city centre. The hotel is nice and modern, trendy lobby and bar area, cozy atmosphere.
I liked the hotel nice and clean and Central to Manchester city centre and right in the heart of Manchesters gay village the staff went out of there way to make you welcome
Really modern hotel in central Manchester, great facilities and big hotel rooms. perfectly located for walking access to all the main attractions of Manchester
